I knew the former owners and sushi chefs. After some growing pains I returned here after a friend said its good again. I agree with them, service was outstanding and our waitress was friendly. Sushi was on par with other restaurants and the tempura was good.
awesome good, good service. i wish they did checks at the end just in case we decided to order more food later.
As for the food, the salad dressing tasted like mayonnaise and the "salad" consisted of lettuce with a couple shreds of carrot. The miss soup had about 5 tiny pieces of tofu, a couple tiny greens pieces, and was completely flavorless, I had to pour a bunch of soy sauce into it to give it any flavor.
I ordered a lomi lomi roll and it was good.

The food was served HOT and we waited a reasonable time considering they were about 1/2 capacity. Everything was very tasty. Our server MOKI was so polite and attentive. Thank you for making it a fun evening!
Better than it was after the switch, it is now a decent sit down Japanese restaurant.
I tried another roll, can't remember the name of it, and it was baked and served hot. Nothing on the menu suggested it would be hot. I said this to the chef and he shrugged his shoulders and said "I know".
When you first walk in the door you realize something is off, you have to order and pay at the counter before you sit down! I like to sit at the bar and interact with my sushi chef, which is the way it should be! Then you seat yourself and the waitress comes and finds you and takes you receipt to get you your drinks, salad, soup, whatever else you ordered that's not coming from the sushi bar.
